Crews Subaru Answers the Call for South Carolina Free Dental Day - Youlanda G
Crews Subaru Answers the Call for South Carolina Free Dental Day When Crews Subaru learned about The Palmetto Palace's 2026 Free Dental Day only about 10 days before the event, the dealership responded quickly and meaningfully. Crews Subaru became a $5,000 Silver Sponsor, making an immediate investment in a large-scale effort to bring urgently needed, no-cost dental care to individuals and families across South Carolina. The Palmetto Palace's 2026 2nd Annual Free Dental Day was held at the Charleston Area Convention Center in North Charleston, South Carolina. The event brought together volunteer dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, medical professionals, community organizations, sponsors, and volunteers to provide comprehensive dental services at no cost to patients. The need was immediate and visible. Hundreds of community members arrived seeking help with pain, infection, untreated oral-health concerns, and other needs that had gone unaddressed because of cost, lack of insurance, transportation barriers, or limited access to providers. The event team triaged 833 patients, and 740 individuals received free dental care, including examinations, X-rays, cleanings, fillings, and extractions. The total value of dental services delivered during the event exceeded $980,000. Crews Subaru's $5,000 Silver Sponsorship helped support the large-scale community response required to serve hundreds of patients in one day. Its investment contributed to essential event needs, including patient registration and triage, volunteer support, dental treatment operations, supplies, outreach, and other logistics necessary to provide safe, organized, and compassionate care. As one of more than 30 sponsors and community partners, Crews Subaru stepped forward on a short timeline with meaningful direct support for a critical local need. Crews Subaru's commitment was also personal. Ken French, Marketing & Events Guy for Crews Subaru, attended Free Dental Day in person as the dealership's on-site representative. His presence demonstrated that Crews Subaru's support extended beyond a financial contribution. Ken saw the long lines of people seeking care, the dedication of volunteer dentists and clinical teams, and the relief experienced by patients who received dental treatment they may otherwise have been unable to afford. For many patients, Free Dental Day was more than a dental appointment. It was an opportunity to seek help for pain, address infection and untreated oral-health concerns, prevent a manageable problem from becoming a larger health issue, and receive care with dignity in a welcoming environment. Crews Subaru's investment helped The Palmetto Palace and its partners reduce financial barriers and deliver critical comprehensive dental services to 740 South Carolinians in a single day. "Crews Subaru recognized the urgency of this work and stepped up quickly to help us serve our neighbors," said Dr. Youlanda Gibbs, Executive Director of The Palmetto Palace. "Their $5,000 Silver Sponsorship was part of the community support that made it possible for 740 individuals to receive free dental care. We are especially grateful that Ken French, Marketing & Events Guy for Crews Subaru, represented the dealership on site and witnessed the tremendous need and impact firsthand." Crews Subaru's rapid response, meaningful financial leadership, and on-site engagement reflect the Subaru Love Promise in action. By responding within days to an urgent need, investing directly in accessible care, and sending a dealership representative to experience the event's impact firsthand, Crews Subaru helped ensure that essential dental services were within reach for people who needed them most.
A Moment - Ken F
The Surfers Healing for Autism team was finishing up a leg of their camp tour, leaving Wrightsville Beach, NC, headed for Charleston and Folly Beach. Their 2017 MB Sprinter van check engine light came on while still on I-95, 200 miles out. Robert and the Crews Subaru team had grown close to these surfers over the years, so Izzy (the founder of Surfers Healing) sent a text to Robert and Ken saying that they had a problem and may get stranded on I-95. Not being car guys, they asked "what should we do?". Robert got things moving. Ken called the van driver, listened, checked with a technician and determined that it would most likely be fine and come straight to Crews, where we would give them a couple of vehicles so they could get to a meet and greet at Folly, while we addressed the problem. An MB Service Center had been contacted, told them we had a 2017 van that would arrive shortly, who it belonged to and that we needed a big favor. They diagnosed a bad rear wheel sensor, fixed it under warranty and the van was ready the next morning. The Surfers Healing for Autism camp went great Wednesday August 19, with hundreds of kids with autism getting to surf. Since this leg of the tour was done, they asked if they could leave their 3 vehicles with us for a couple of weeks so they could fly home. Robert said of course. The surfers went home and all three vehicles went into service for maintenance and repair. This is The Moment: the camp always opens with a prayer circle on the beach. Izzy welcomes the crowd, prayers are offered and then a traditional Hawaiian song and sounding the conch shell. Izzy took the time to thank Robert for the years of sponsoring and always being there to help and provide service. He told the hundreds of people on the beach who Robert is and what he does supporting his community. Then Izzy recounted a conversation he had with Robert, offering to pay for the box truck he was given by Subaru in 2025 and for all the mechanical work over many years. Robert's answer was simply "Izzy, you already have".

🎒❤️ 11 YEARS OF GIVING, PARTNERSHIP & COMMUNITY! ❤️🎒 Jean's Angels would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to Crews Subaru for once again standing beside us for our 11th Annual Back-to-School Giveaway and for generously donating 1,500 book bags for children in our community! There is a story behind every book bag. Imagine a child preparing for the first day of school, excited but quietly worried because their family simply cannot afford everything on the school supply list. Then they arrive at our giveaway and are handed a brand-new book bag. Suddenly, that worry turns into a smile. They walk away feeling prepared, confident, and excited to start a new school year. ❤️ That is what partnership looks like. It is so much more than donating a book bag—it is helping a child walk into the classroom with dignity and reminding them that their community believes in them. For years, Crews Subaru has continued to show up for Jean's Angels and the families we serve. Their commitment goes far beyond writing a check—they have invested in our mission, supported our programs, and helped us reach thousands of children and families when they needed us most. To the entire Crews Subaru family, thank you for believing in the mission of Jean's Angels and for helping us continue Putting God's Love Into Action. Because of partners like you, 1,500 children had one less thing to worry about as they prepared for school this year. 🎒✏️📚 One book bag. One child. One act of kindness. A lifetime of impact. ❤️ #JeansAngels #CrewsSubaru #BackToSchoolGiveaway #1500BookBags #CommunityPartners #11YearsOfService #GivingBack #PuttingGodsLoveIntoAction #ChangingLivesOneAngelAtATime
Crews Shows UP! - Grant R
The Charleston Battery Pro Soccer Club is blessed to have great local business support. Generally, our sponsors have the opportunity to connect with our fans as part of their package with interactions on game days. What is interesting to us is that many of them don't take advantage of the opportunity. It's too hot or it might rain or there's a summer storm rolling through. You know the kind. Rain blowing sideways, visibility next to zero and flooded streets. The absolute exception is our automotive sponsor Crews Subaru. They show up. Weather doesn't phase them. We've seen Ken and Trista soaked to the bone taking care of their Subaru flags and sandwich boards. Ken says you can only get so wet, and then it doesn't matter anymore. And we see them all over the Low Country. If they are involved, they show up anywhere at anytime, to support whatever it is that they signed up to support. They bring others to the effort as well. Never hesitating to share their connections and contacts to advance the cause. And isn't that what you want in a partnership? They say "More than a car dealer" and that's a fact. Way more! To our friends at Crews Subaru, we say Thank You on behalf of the Low Country. We salute you!

Some Heroes Wear Raincoats - Lucy S
When the Charleston Dragon Boat Festival was met with pouring rain, gusty winds, and chilly temperatures, Crews Subaru never left our side. While the weather sent everyone else running, Ken and his team stayed with us all day long, proving that their commitment to Dragon Boat Charleston and our cancer survivorship mission goes far beyond a marketing decision. Because of partners like Crews Subaru, hope keeps moving forward—even on the stormiest days. Their unwavering support of Dragon Boat Charleston, along with the generosity of our community, helped raise more than $91,000 to provide free year-round wellness programs for cancer survivors, both on and off the water. From everyone at Dragon Boat Charleston, thank you, Ken, Trista, and the entire Crews Subaru team, for standing with us through every wave, every raindrop, and every victory. You truly embody what it means to be a community partner.
An irascible customer smiles. - Ken F
I'd say most southern Subaru retailers can identify with this: A good customer from "up north" moves to our community, loves our product and continues to buy and drive only Subarus. They also love to find the smallest things to complain about. And so, every interaction is a verbal battle. They thrive on it! Crews Subaru has those customers and, for the moment, one of them stands out above all the rest. An irascible fellow named George, from Connecticut, in his late seventies, and set in his ways. Not too unlike our GSM Kevin, a die-hard New Yorker who relishes verbal battles. George called Kevin before 8:00am on June 18th. Kevin grimaces as he sees Georges name, gets mentally prepared and answers the call. This time the conversation is totally different. It appears that George has been battling cancer for 8 years and has treatment at the MUSC Hollings Cancer Center. We partner with Blood Cancer United and Hollings Cancer Center for our annual Subaru Loves to Care blanket and craft kit delivery. Our delivery took place on the morning of June 17th. George happened to be in the infusion room on the afternoon of the 17th and saw the Subaru blankets and craft kits being distributed. He asked where they came from and was told Crews Subaru. He knows how much we do in our community and he was not surprised. He called Kevin to say he saw the smiles in the infusion room, and it made him smile. He called to say "Thank You" and wanted an address so he could Robert Crews a letter. For these two guys from "up north" this was a totally different conversation. You never know where or when someone is touched by what we do when we live the Subaru Love Promise. When we fully execute the Subaru Love Promise Pillars. When we simply make moments. We smiled, too.
Bright Ideas Education Grant program - Libby R
We were thrilled to have Crews Subaru of Charleston participate as a sponsor for the 2026 Bright Ideas 5K, which is a fundraiser for a grant program benefitting K-12 teachers in Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties. Crews' generous support enabled Berkeley Electric Cooperative to raise more than $55,000 and honor 50 educators with grants for their classrooms and lessons. Thank you!
Helping Little Learners Grow - CORY H
Sometimes the Subaru Love Promise shows up in big moments. Other times, it shows up in a truck full of supplies for children. When an outgoing daycare at the Marine base in Beaufort, South Carolina, had items available, Robert Kozakiewicz saw an opportunity to make sure those supplies could continue doing good. Instead of letting them go unused, Robert helped make it possible for the majority of the goods to be brought to The Island School of Johns Island, where they could support babies, toddlers, teachers, and families in a new place. With Crews Subaru's truck borrowed for the haul, the trip became roughly a 150-mile round trip — but every mile was worth it. When the supplies arrived, the teachers were excited and grateful to have more items for their classrooms. More resources meant more comfort, more learning, more creativity, and more support for the little ones in their care. That is what the Crews Subaru Love Promise is all about: using what we have to help where we can. Sometimes love looks like time. Sometimes it looks like service. And sometimes, it looks like a truck full of classroom supplies finding a new home where they can continue blessing children. At Crews Subaru, we believe love is more than a promise. It is something we put in motion.
