Enjoy an Electronic Adventure in the Subaru Solterra Near Goose Creek
The Subaru Solterra, the manufacturer's fully electric SUV, expects to remain unchanged in its second year for sale. Buyers will enjoy smooth, quick acceleration, agile, responsible handling, and a roomy cabin in Subaru's first electric vehicle.
Two changes are expected, including a redesigned steering wheel that gives drivers better visibility of the Solterra's digital gauge display and improvements to the battery warming system that will aid in cold weather charging. During its first year of production, buyers flocked to the Solterra, so Subaru expects the same response for the second model year.
Three Subaru Solterra Trim Levels

Performance, Range and Charging
The new Subaru Solterra is ideal for those who want to explore Charleston but care about the environment. It is powered by two electric motors that deliver a nearly 73 kilowatt-hour battery pack, generating 215 horsepower and 249 pound-feet of torque. Drivers can use that power differently depending on their chosen drive modes:
- Eco
- Normal
- Power
- X-MODE®
The last is ideal for uneven terrain when off-road or for slippery conditions.
If you want to use the Solterra for adventures, it has a class-leading 8.3 inches of ground clearance and a grip control feature. Steering wheel paddles allow you to adjust the regenerative braking force. It also comes with Subaru's Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive that delivers greater traction control in any weather or road conditions.
Owners will get a range of up to 227 miles on the Premium trim, with the Limited and Touring rated at 222 miles. When plugged into a Level 2 charging station, the Solterra will recharge in about nine hours. A DC fast-charger will achieve an 80 percent charge in under an hour.
