Design
Exterior
Some of the largest upgrades and additions to the new Subaru Outback Wilderness model are from the exterior. The regular Outback lineup has 8.7 inches of ground clearance, which is already higher than most models. The Outback Wilderness models increase the ground clearance by 9.5 inches, providing you with a clear view of the road ahead and allowing you to travel over obstacles and through poor weather conditions as you drive around Summerville and beyond.
When traveling off-road and facing rugged terrain, you can confidently drive, knowing that standard front skid plates protect the underside of your vehicle. Maintain optimal traction and control on any surface thanks to standard 17-inch off-road wheels and Yokohama GEOLANDAR® all-terrain tires. You can carry more weight on top of your vehicle with reinforced roof rails that support up to 700 pounds.
Performance
The Subaru Outback Wilderness models deliver a strong and commanding driving experience you can enjoy on daily trips around Mount Pleasant and during any adventure off the beaten path. All the Outback Wilderness models use a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that exerts 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque, engaging you with excitement every time your foot touches the pedal.
The Outback Wilderness models also have an upgraded Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system featuring a low-ratio setting that allows you to climb and descend steep inclines and maintain the best possible traction and control when driving in poor weather conditions or on any terrain around Hanahan. You can also bring recreational vehicles, trailers, boats, and more along for the ride with 3,500 pounds of towing capacity in all Outback Wilderness models.
