July was an exciting month at Crews Subaru of Charleston. We raised money to feed hungry children, collected hundreds of pounds of food, and packed school bags so no child has to show up to their first day empty-handed. Find out how we helped our community in West Ashley, SC.
Over $50,000 Raised
All month long in July, Crews Subaru partnered with Live Five in the Rise and Shine Food Drive. This food drive supported the Lowcountry Food Bank and collected monetary donations and non-perishable breakfast items. With our partners we exceeded our initial goal of $50,000 and, at final count, raised a total of $54,750! Along with hundreds of pounds of food donated, this will provide more than 300,000 meals for kids from Mount Pleasant to Goose Creek.
Pack Your Bags
As part of the Subaru Loves Learning initiative, on July 27 we sponsored 1,500 school bags for kids in need before the school year starts. With over 6,000 people showing up to participate, we filled bags with school supplies and hygiene products. These backpacks will help kids in need around Hanahan and Summerville start the year with everything they need to be successful.
