At Crews Subaru of Charleston, we're proud to support local causes in Charleston and our surrounding areas through various community, charity, and outreach events. Over the month of August, we were busy helping partners at five events, providing assistance for teachers, animals, children, and more. Some of the highlighted events that we're happy to help include:
Nexton Elementary
On August 7, we helped our education partner, Nexton Elementary, provide a full breakfast to teachers and faculty as they returned to campus. We were ecstatic to help decorate tables with live plants to bring back to classrooms, cook breakfast ahead of the first school meeting, and deliver school supplies from Subaru of America and AdoptAClassroom.org. One of the reasons we chose to work with Nexton Elementary near Summerville is their contingent of special education students, which is the largest in the district.
Charleston Friends of the Library
From August 8 to 11, we worked with the Charleston Friends of the Library (CFOL) during their book sale that supports the Charleston County Library System with after-school learning programs ranging from helping kids learn English as a second language to receiving healthy meals. As a presenting sponsor, we helped the CFOL fulfill its goal of raising $120,000.
Charleston Animal Society
We helped the Charleston Animal Society put on their Summer Life Saving Raffle during the 2nd Sunday on King Street event. We bought a new 2025 Subaru Forester Limited for display and raffle, allowing our community to experience our latest vehicles while helping our local animal shelter.
Charleston County Parks and Rec.
On August 17th, we supported the Dog Day Afternoon at Splash Zone and Splash Island in Mt Pleasant, helping the Charleston Country Parks and Rec. enjoy the last day of waterpark and pool fun before the end of the season.
Surfers Healing
On August 21st, we were proud to sponsor Surfers Healing for a 12th year, partnering with hundreds of volunteers for a fun and relaxing beach adventure on Folly Beach. Surfers Healing helps introduce children with autism to the joy of surfing with relaxing activities for kids, their siblings, and family.
