The 2018 Subaru Outback offers the most passenger space of any sport-utility wagons with 108.1 cubic feet of room plus 35.5 cubic feet behind the rear seats for cargo; fold down the standard 60/40-split rear seatback and you'll increase that cargo space to 73.3 cubic feet, so none of your gear will get left on the driveway! Also standard are the roof rails with integrated retractable crossbars so you can lug whatever won't fit inside the Outback on the roof. Subaru describes the Outback as having a "bolder, more rugged looking face for 2018;" the lower grille openings and a new bumper add to the new look, perfectly complementing the quintessential Subaru hexagonal grille. New safety features such as available Steering Responsive Headlights make a great addition to the range of driver-assist features; these revolutionary headlights actually self-adjust to aim the lights in the direction that the Outback is moving. The interior is highlighted with an available 8-inch multimedia display screen, and Premium and Higher trims add new details that offer a luxe look for the cabin. Of course, the 2018 Outback remains as capable as ever with the Subaru exclusive 2.5-liter BOXER engine, or upgrade to the DOHC 3.6-liter 6-cylinder BOXER engine in the Outback 3.6R.
