In the summer of 2020 – as Covid ravaged our community, Subaru of America forged a partnership with Feeding America to help food insecurity in communities served by their 61 nationwide partners. Embarrassed that we did not already have a relationship with our Lowcountry Food Bank, that campaign led Crews Subaru to really get involved in the LCFB mission. Bottom line, we were blown away by what they did on a day to day basis. We knew that even maxing out what we could afford to give, it wasn’t enough. Robert, HR and Ken came up with trying a Dollar-for-Dollar match campaign to multiply what we could manage. Match our owners and customers with their donor base, and let’s see what happens.

For the 3rd year, Crews Subaru joined with the Low Country Food Bank to do an Earth Day Fundraiser though a Dollar for Dollar Match campaign. For 2024, recognizing that there is still a huge need to address food insecurity, Crews Subaru upped our amount to $15,000, with a goal of generating a total of $30,000. We emailed our customer base with the information, and the food bank sent it out to their donors. Final results – the public donated a total of $32,013.63 making out total raised $47,013.63! That’s how we turned $15,000 into $47,013.63. To date, we have executed 6 of these campaigns since September 2020. We have turned $75,000 from Crews Subaru into over $231,000 for our local food bank.
